Shocking isn't "more chlorine" — it's rapidly oxidizing the organics that normal chlorination can't keep up with. Using the wrong shock makes things worse: cal-hypo raises calcium in already-hard DFW water, dichlor raises stabilizer if you're already high. We stock all three families — cal-hypo for algae kills, dichlor for low-CYA pools, and non-chlorine oxidizer for weekly maintenance — so you can match the shock to your actual water chemistry, not just grab whatever's on the shelf.
