Gas Heater
Uses natural gas or propane to heat water rapidly. Can raise pool temperature 20+ degrees in hours. Best for occasional use or spa heating.

Salt Chlorine Generators
Salt systems convert dissolved salt into chlorine automatically — giving you silky-smooth water without the harsh chemical smell. No more buying, storing, or handling chlorine.
How Salt Chlorination Works
Add pool-grade salt to your water (about 3,200 ppm). You only need to add salt 1-2 times per year.
Water flows through the salt cell, which uses electrolysis to convert salt (NaCl) into pure chlorine.
The system continuously produces chlorine while the pump runs. Set it once and enjoy crystal clear, soft water.
Cell lifespan: 3-5 years (roughly 10,000 hours). Regular acid cleaning of the titanium plates extends life significantly.

Are Variable Speed Pumps (VSP) really worth it?
For most pools, yes. Federal efficiency standards (in force since July 2021) set a level that the Department of Energy says would likely require a variable-speed motor on the common in-ground pump size, and since September 29, 2025 new replacement pool-pump motors from 1.15 to 5 horsepower must be variable-speed too. A variable-speed pump can run slower for longer, which uses much less electricity than an old single-speed running flat out (ENERGY STAR puts certified in-ground pumps at about 20% less energy than standard ones). Cartridge vs. sand vs. DE filters?
Cartridge filters are our most highly recommended for DFW. They have massive surface areas, require no backwashing (saving thousands of gallons of water and expensive chemicals a year), and filter down to 10-15 microns. Sand is the easiest but least effective (20-40 microns). DE filters the finest (3-5 microns) but is messy and requires regular teardowns and backwashing.
How long does a salt cell last?
A high-quality salt chlorine generator cell (like a Pentair IntelliChlor or Hayward AquaRite cell) typically lasts 3 to 5 years, or roughly 10,000 hours of run time. Regular cleaning of the titanium plates using a diluted acid solution drastically extends its lifespan.
