How much Easy Care Algatec should I add to treat an active algae bloom?
For visible algae blooms, dose 16 fl oz per 10,000 gallons directly into the deep end of the pool with the circulation system running. For stubborn black or mustard algae, brush the affected surface thoroughly before adding, and maintain free chlorine between 1–3 ppm to accelerate clearing.
Does Algatec cause water foaming or pool surface staining?
No. Unlike traditional linear quaternary ammonium compounds or copper algaecides, Algatec utilizes a 30% polymeric quat formulation that is non-foaming in hot tubs and spillways, and completely copper-free so it will not discolor pool plaster or vinyl.
