About salt cell service in Lantana, TX

Lantana is a nationally recognized master-planned community spanning portions of Bartonville, Copper Canyon, and unincorporated Denton County. Developed starting in the 2000s, Lantana has grown into one of the most desirable residential communities in DFW North, featuring beautiful homes, excellent amenities (multiple pools, fitness center, parks, trails), and a strong community culture. The community includes the Lantana Golf Club and numerous neighborhood parks and gathering spaces. What sets Lantana apart for pool service is the high concentration of well-maintained, modern pools with quality equipment. Most homes were built between 2005 and 2020, featuring contemporary pool designs with automated equipment, salt chlorine generators, and thoughtful landscaping. The community's HOA standards ensure properties are well-maintained, and homeowners typically invest in quality pool care that matches their home's presentation. Located just 5 miles from our Northlake headquarters, Lantana is one of our most convenient service areas. Many of our team members live in or near Lantana and understand the community intimately.

Lantana water profile

Lantana is served by the Bartonville Water Supply Corporation and Denton County Fresh Water Supply District, providing municipal-quality water with moderate mineral content (300-400 ppm TDS). Water chemistry is consistent and well-suited for pool maintenance, particularly for the salt chlorine generators common in the community. Some western portions of Lantana may have slightly higher mineral content depending on the specific water supply district.

Lantana pool & equipment mix

Lantana pools are predominantly modern residential installations from 2005-2020. Most feature quality plaster or pebble finishes, cartridge filtration, variable-speed or dual-speed pumps, and salt chlorine generators. LED lighting and basic automation are common. Many homes feature integrated pool and spa designs with water features. Pool sizes typically range from 12,000 to 30,000 gallons. The consistent build quality across the community means our technicians know the common equipment configurations and can service them efficiently.

Lantana salt cell service questions

How long do salt cells last on Lantana pools?
On Lantana municipal water, salt cells typically last 5-7 years if you stay on top of calcium and pH. We see most Lantana cells die between years 5 and 6, almost always from voltage-output decay rather than physical failure — at that point a descale won't save it.
My Lantana pool has low chlorine but the salt level is fine — what's wrong?
Three most likely causes in order: (1) cyanuric acid too low (CYA below 30 ppm means UV burns chlorine off as fast as the cell makes it — common after a heavy Denton County rain dilution), (2) cell scaled and underproducing even though the controller hasn't thrown an error yet , or (3) the cell is at end-of-life and outputting 60-70% of rated even though "salt OK" still shows. We test cell amperage on site and tell you which one.
Should I descale or replace my Lantana pool salt cell?
We always try descale first — it's cheaper, faster, and often buys 1-2 more seasons. If after acid bath the cell still tests below ~70% of rated output, replacement is the right call. On Lantana municipal water, descaling every 2-3 years is usually enough. We carry Hayward TurboCell, Pentair IntelliChlor IC-15/IC-20/IC-40, and Jandy AquaPure for Lantana same-day replacements.
