Black FlowStar® 3-Way Valve
Product Overview
Plumbed for 2-inch socket and 2.5-inch spigot lines, this diverter valve manages suction and return flow with minimal hydraulic friction.
AquaStar’s AV3W20C FlowStar 3-Way Valve features a full-flow diverter core designed to minimize hydraulic restriction across equipment pads. The dual-size ports accept 2-inch PVC pipe internally or 2.5-inch fittings over the outside, while the black UV-resistant composite body withstands prolonged sun degradation and harsh chemical exposure.

Benefits & What Makes It Different
Dual Port Sizing (2" Socket x 2.5" Spigot)
Glues directly over 2-inch schedule 40 PVC or inside 2.5-inch slip fittings for flexible pad layouts.
Serviceable Diverter Assembly
Stainless steel lid screws allow quick access to internal seals without cutting the plumbed valve body.
UV-Stabilized Black Body
Formulated to resist chalking and UV embrittlement on open equipment pads exposed to direct sunlight.
Compatibility
- 2-inch Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe (internal socket)
- 2.5-inch PVC slip fittings (external spigot)
- Standard motorized valve actuators with industry standard mounting posts
When To Use This
Pro Tip
Always unbolt and remove the lid and internal diverter assembly before solvent welding the valve body to your PVC pipes. Primer and glue vapors trapped inside can swell the silicone seals or weld the diverter shut against the housing.
Common Questions & Instructions
Can I replace just the internal diverter or do I have to replace the whole valve?
If the outer body is intact, the internal diverter and lid assembly can be unscrewed and serviced. Full replacement is only required if the body is cracked or stripped.
What pipe sizes fit the AquaStar AV3W20C FlowStar valve?
The valve ports feature 2-inch internal slip sockets that glue directly onto standard 2-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe, and 2.5-inch external spigots that slide into 2.5-inch fittings.
What causes a 3-way diverter valve handle to become stiff or leak from the top?
Hard water scaling and dried-out stem o-rings cause stiff operation and shaft leaks. Lubricating or replacing the lid stem o-rings restores smooth turning.
