What we repair on the Jandy VS FloPro with 2 Aux Relays
A permanent-magnet motor run by an electronic drive — no start capacitor to replace. When one fails we read the drive's own fault before touching a part.
- Drive or keypad showing a fault, or the display dark — diagnosed against the manufacturer's fault list
- Not answering the automation or app — communication wiring and settings
- Speeds and schedules set wrong — reprogrammed for this pool, so it runs slow and quiet most of the day
- Leaking at the shaft seal (water under the motor) — a new mechanical seal before the bearings rust
- Air in the basket and losing prime — lid o-ring, basket, drain plugs, suction-side unions
- Loud grinding or screeching — worn motor bearings
- Low flow — impeller clogged or worn, diffuser gasket, basket
- Cracked strainer housing, lid or basket

- RS-485 test: jumper pins 1–3 and 2–4 and power up. If the motor runs at 2600 RPM, the fault is the wiring or the controller, not the pump.
- Seized shaft check: power off, a 5/16" Allen key through the back of the fan housing turns the shaft by hand.
- Aux relay 1 closes at 1725 RPM and relay 2 at 2250 RPM, after a 3-minute start delay.
- Lost automation: power off both, wait five minutes, restore the automation first, then the pump a minute later.
