How To Use Pool Shock

First test your pool water to check the chlorine levels. If chlorine levels are below the 1 - 4 ppm range, prepare to add shock.
Add 1lb of Shock per 10,000 Gal of Water (always check product instructions).
Evenly add the shock around the pool. Add in Algae areas if needed. You can also dissolve the shock dosage in water and dump it in.
If a large amount of Algae is present in the pool, add 2 - 3 times the regular dosage of shock to kill Algae and maintain high chlorine levels.
